Henk Sentel (1949) is autodidact Painter / Illustrator, but over the years he developed through extensive self-study and training in specific painting and drawing techniques. Master painter Herman Smorenburg (Alkmaar) teached him the finer points in the art of fine painting. The paintings by Henk Sentel show a combination of fantasy and reality. In a unique visual language they are full of symbols, using his imagination, realistically painted.He finds his inspiration from the great masters in painting, such as Hieronymus Bosch and Johfra, but also with artists such as Wout Muller, Hans Kanters, Tobias Baanders, Herman Smorenburg, Herman Tulp and many contemporary realists.
