Brita Seifert

In 1980, Brita Seifert started drawing with pencil and paper. It took three years before she was admitted to the Academy of graphic and illustration in Leipzig, where , from 1983 to 1986 she was a student of Prof. Heinz Wagner and Werner Hennig. She also followed the Academy of fine arts in Berlin (1988 – 1989). In the periode 1989 - 1992 Brita Seifert lived in Italy where she was  inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci and Albrecht Dürer among others, but also by contemporary painters as Bruno Di Maio and Walter Girotto In the year 2000 she completed her study multimedia design in order to pursue a career in digital art. Nowadays she designs on the computer before she's going to draw or paint.  In each work she tries to process a  recognizable emotion, often things from everyday life with a certain expressiveness that grows towards the fantastic, erotic and magical realistic images. Brita's work is mainly inspired by music, travel and personal experiences. Each work takes you into another world, in the middle of a story or just the expression into symbols of her inner feelings. The scenes in her work occur most often in the twilight of the morning or in the last rays of the evening, the border between day and night, sleeping and waking, blurring the lines between reality and the ghosts of the imagination. In the mean time she is already an internationally renowned artist who exhibited in many countries such as: Germany, Austria, Senegal, Belgium, Florida, Baltimore, Maryland,Washington DC and Netherlands.
